DETERMINATION OF pH
Objective:
To determine the pH value of given solutions using pH meter.
Apparatus used:
pH meter, Electrode, Temperature probe.
Description pH is a term used to express the intensity of the acid or alkaline condition of a solution. It is a measure of the hydrogen ion activity in the solution.
Select any of the given sample
Fill the beaker with sufficient volume of lime water so that the electrode can be immersed properly into it.
Calibration of pH meter
Clean the electrode and temperature probe with the distilled water and dry it using tissue paper.
Dry the electrode and temperature probe using tissue paper.
Dip the electrode and temperature probe in the buffer solution of pH value 7.
Clean the electrode and temperature probe with the distilled water and dry it using tissue paper.
Dry the electrode and temperature probe using tissue paper.
Dip the electrode and temperature probe in the buffer solution of pH value 4.
Determine pH Value of Sample
Clean the electrode and temperature probe with the distilled water and dry it using tissue paper.
Dry the electrode and temperature probe using tissue paper.
Dip the electrode and temperature probe in the solution to determine its pH value.
